Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap is always in the headlines for his outspoken statements. This time, he has targeted the upcoming AI-generated film 'Chiranjeevi Hanuman - The Eternal'. The film has been announced by Abundantia Entertainment and Historians of Collective Media Network, and it is being claimed that it will be India's first big 'Made in AI Made in India' film, whose release is scheduled on Hanuman Jayanti 2026.

Why did Anurag Kashyap get angry?

Anurag Kashyap got furious at Collective Artist Network founder-CEO and producer of the film Vijay Subramaniam. He directly took Vijay to task by sharing the poster of the film on Instagram. Anurag wrote that on the one hand, he represents artists, writers, and directors, and on the other hand, he is producing a film made with AI. According to Kashyap, this is a direct betrayal of the interests of the creators on whose hard work and talent these agencies are based.

'Everything for money'- Kashyap's allegation
Anurag also accused the agencies in his note that their only motive is to make money. He said that when the artists are not able to earn enough profit for themselves, these agencies resort to artificial intelligence. He said, 'Any actor or artist who has self-respect should question this agency or leave it.' Taking a dig at Vijay Subramaniam, he wrote that such people in the Hindi film industry are spineless and their place is in the gutter.

Increasing restlessness in the film industry
Apart from Anurag Kashyap, director Vikramaditya Motwane also took a dig at this project. Sharing the announcement of the film on Instagram story, he wrote - 'So now the beginning has begun ... when everything will be done by AI, then who needs writers and directors?'

Vijay Subramaniam responded
However, Vijay Subramaniam also put his side on these criticisms. In a statement to the media, he said that this film aims to combine tradition and innovation. He claims that this project is being done with transparency while maintaining cultural values, and the audience will be told what role AI plays in the creative process.
