Back pain has become a common but serious problem these days. While it was once seen in older adults, it is now rapidly increasing among young people and even young children. This problem is being exacerbated by factors such as poor lifestyles, long hours spent on mobile phones and computers, lack of sleep, and stress. Aligarh-based consultant physiotherapist Dr. Ariba Syed has outlined some specific methods to alleviate this problem.

What causes back pain?
Giving information, Aligarh-based consultant physiotherapist Dr. Aba Syed explained that back pain has become a very common problem these days. Previously, it was seen in people over 40, but now it is rapidly increasing among young people between the ages of 20 and 35. There are many reasons for this, including prolonged periods of looking at the mobile phone in the wrong position, working on the computer for long hours, lack of sleep, and increased stress levels.
What is the solution?
Dr. Ariba said that to avoid back pain, it's important to take a 15-20 minute break after every 2.5 to 3 hours of continuous work, get up for a short walk, and do some light stretching exercises. Get adequate sleep and sit in the right posture. Lack of sun exposure and irregular eating habits can lead to vitamin D deficiency, which is a major cause of back pain. Back pain is also increasing among children these days.
The reasons behind this include heavy school bags, excessive time on mobile phones and computers, gaming, and a lack of outdoor activities.

Keep these things in mind.
Dr. Ariba says that it's important for children to sleep in the right posture. Their mattress should neither be too soft nor too hard. Hot fermentation can be done at home, and stretching exercises like the cat and camel pose are very beneficial for back pain. To avoid back pain, regular exercise, adequate sleep, a balanced diet and proper sitting and sleeping habits can help in preventing back pain.
