Emmerdale's Aaron and Robert future sealed as fans left 'screaming' over reunion

There were "amazing" Emmerdale scenes for Robron fans on Monday, as Aaron Dingle and ex-husband Robert Sugden gave into temptation months on from them coming face-to-face after six years. While there was a kiss between them months ago on the day Aaron married new husband John Sugden, Robert's brother, they've kept somewhat of a distance since then.

But in the latest episode of the ITV soap Aaron could not deny his true feelings any longer as he offered his support to a spiralling Robert. Robert had been trashing his room up, struggling to cope with his ongoing turmoil following his release from prison.

It comes as John continued to drive a wedge between him and his loved ones, desperate to get him out of the village. But this backfired when Aaron went to check on his ex and after a heart-to-heart, one thing led to another in scenes that left viewers "screaming".

It signalled a possible Robron reunion, as both Robert and Aaron shared their lingering feelings for one another. Aaron confessed he'd deliberately kept a distance from him, knowing full well what would happen if he didn't.

The thing he was fearful of ended up happening though as neither of them could resist temptation after Aaron told Robert just how much he'd missed him. Robert kissed Aaron who then reciprocated, before they ended up in bed together.

They were nearly caught, as John headed back to the house to check on Robert only to be distracted amid his dark crimes. With a downfall definitely looming, he was horrified when Cain Dingle told him that detectives had reopened Nate Robinson's murder case.

Nate's killer John had believed he was successful in pinning the crime on his dead patient Owen, so this latest update left him reeling. He ended up heading off, not entering the house, so Robert and Aaron were not caught out.

As the pair processed their latest moment of passion, it was clear they knew that for now it wasn't something that could happen again, or at least they weren't going to tell anyone about it. Given Aaron's marriage to John, he told Robert that should enjoy it for what it was.

Robert had asked what it meant for them and their future, while spoilers have already revealed Aaron feels guilty and tries to flee with John as a means of covering up his betrayal. But what does this mean for Robron?

It's clear that Aaron and Robert still love each other and if circumstances were different they'd be together in a heartbeat. Given so much has happened and Aaron is married though, he's reluctant to cause any upheaval - but surely he can't deny that Robert is his soulmate, and that he's basically settled for John?

Robert isn't going to be able to let this drop, but something tells us Aaron equally won't be able to hide his true feelings forever. Of course with John leaving the show some point soon, there is every chance Robron will find their way back together for good.

As for the latest episode, fans were "screaming", thrilled after scenes had been kept secret. One fan posted on social media: "IM SCREAMING AT THE FACT THAT THERES A ROBRON REUNION!!"

Another fan said: "Amazing performances from both," as a third said: "It's always going to be these two. They are what people mean when they say 'soulmates'." A fourth fan posted: "Today’s ep was so special. So many emotions."

The comments kept on coming with one saying: "Don't know what to do with myself after that episode," as another fan commented: "Ryan Hawley, you are incredible! That scene was heartbreaking. My heart was in my mouth. Brilliant stuff and the reunion was better than the first one."
