Liverpool's Alisson Becker is facing a spell on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury duringtheir 1-0 loss to Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. The 33-year-old goalkeeper had to leave the pitch just after half-time in Turkey.
Following a scan on Thursday, it's anticipated that Alisson will be out of action for around six weeks, ruling him out of several crucial matches. Arne Slot confirmed after the game that Alisson would miss the upcoming match against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon. The Liverpool manager expressed his concern when the Brazilian was injured earlier in the week.
"If one of our players is on the floor, nine times out of 10 I fear the worst, and with the worst I mean he cannot continue and that is what happened with Alisson," Slot explained. "He will not be able to play Saturday that is 99.9 per cent (certain), although I think it is 100 per cent."

Alisson was also omitted from Brazil's squad for their friendlies against South Korea and Japan on Wednesday. On Friday, Slot updated the media, saying: "Alisson is not part of the squad tomorrow and won't travel to Brazil as well with the national team."
"He will be out for Saturday. Hugo [Ekitike] is going to train again today and same can be said for Federico [Chiesa]. Alisson, I would be surprised if he's there for first game after international break, but we don't know after that. Depends how quickly he can recover."
So, with that in mind, here's a look at the Liverpool matches the goalkeeper could potentially miss with Giorgi Mamardashvili expected to come in...
Chelsea (A) - Premier League - October 4Slot has confirmed that Alisson will not be part of this weekend's journey to Stamford Bridge. The absence of the Brazilian will be a significant blow for the Premier League champions as Chelsea aim to compound their woes following Tuesday night's loss to Galatasaray.
Manchester United (H) - Premier League - October 19Manchester United haven't tasted victory at Anfield since January 2016, when Wayne Rooney netted the game's solitary goal in a 1-0 triumph. With Alisson likely to be absent, Ruben Amorim's squad might be tempted to take long-range shots.
Eintracht Frankfurt (A) - Champions League - October 22Eintracht Frankfurt hammered Galatasaray with five goals in the first week of the new Champions League season, while Liverpool failed to score even once. Although the Bundesliga team didn't face the Turkish champions in Istanbul, they'll be back on home ground to take on Slot's team.
Brentford (A) - Premier League - October 25Caoimhin Kelleher will be up against Liverpool for the first time since his summer departure. The former Reds shot-stopper, who once filled in for Alisson, will be eager to show Slot what he's missing.

Crystal Palace are currently on a 19-game unbeaten run and, if they maintain this form, they'll be in high spirits when they take on Liverpool at Anfield. However, the Reds will be seeking payback after their defeat at Selhurst Park last month.
Aston Villa (H) - Premier League - November 1Aston Villa have had an unstable start to the season, but with more matches under their belt, they could emerge as a formidable team. The Villans will be hoping history repeats itself, having famously thrashed Liverpool 7-1 at Villa Park five years ago.
Real Madrid (H) - Champions League - November 4Mamardashvili will undoubtedly face a tough challenge if Alisson is absent for this match. If Liverpool aims to secure a top spot in the Champions League table and automatic qualification to the last 16, this game is crucial.
Manchester City (A) - Premier League - November 9Manchester City haven't been as dominant as in previous seasons, but they could bounce back at any time. Arsenal are just a few points behind Liverpool in the title race, and Pep Guardiola's side aren't far off either, so Slot will be eager to have Alisson available for next month's visit to the Etihad Stadium.
