UK tourists are vowing to "never" go on holiday to a popular holiday hotspot after people were left gobsmacked over the "bizarre" behaviour of some hotel guests. The infamous sunbed wars have boiled to the surface in Tenerife with Brits horrified by the extreme lengths some are going to in order to claim a lounger.
Sunbed wars appear to have descended into chaos on the Spanish island, with footage of a crazy dash of tourists attempting to grab their spot racking up 20 million views on TikTok. The footage taken by Jeff Hunter in a four-star hotel in Playa de Las Americas shows guests queuing to enter pool areas before they even open - then sprinting to their preferred spot to throw down their towel and claim their territory.

In the video around 100 foreign guests were spotted trampling a staff member who was opening the pool access door at 6:30am.
The sunbed wars witnessed at Parque Santiago III in Las Americas, also shows one eager tourist rushing to the front, placing six towels on six beds in quick succession before grabbing a seventh sun bed and dragging it over.
"Just wouldn't want to stay in a place like that to be honest," one viewer remarked. "Can't think of anything worse," another chimed in. A third insisted: "This is not a holiday."
Another said: "Book a quiet villa on the beach on some small Greek Island. Come and go as you please, eat at the local Taverna's. Now that's my idea of a holiday."
"How sad is this," one user lamented. Another was more blunt, stating: "This is why I will never go to an all inclusive 4 star hotel. Tacky and low class."
"As an Aussie I travelled to Tenerife with my UK cousins! They woke me up at 7 or 8 and said go put the towels out. I was so hung over I thought WTF? Fair to say we fell out over this during our trip! I will never understand this pathetic behaviour and well.. yeah we still don't talk but the mentality is bizarre!", said another commentator.
One holidaymaker remarked: "I've been to Tenerife and I don't understand people going there to stay in a hotel's pool instead of going around the island and enjoying the different beaches."
