The soap wedding of the year has taken place. Former Emmerdale stars Max Parker and Kris Mochrie tied the knot, having met when they played brothers Luke and Lee Posner on the ITV soap. Sparks flew between them after they met on set. They moved in together in 2020 and became engaged in 2022 when Max got down on one knee and popped the question with a ring made from one of Kris' beloved grandmother's lockets.
The pair planned a lavish affair for their multi-day wedding event, which began on July 5. Their soap characters would no doubt be envious of the setup, which is costing six figures. They booked the exclusive Chapel Barn venue on the Wilderness Reserve in Suffolk for the event. Weddings at that location start at £65,000. Bottles of £82 a bottle Laurent-Perrier Cuvee Rose were on hand to keep guests refreshed at the outdoor rehearsal dinner BBQ, and wedding favours included personalised KM-branded bars of Tony's Chocolate Chocolonely bars.
Social media posts show every detail was meticulously planned. The big day began with breakfast followed by a group workout for the super-fit couple and their guests in prepartion for the partying, which is set to go on until 2am.
They exchanged vows in the stunning countryside setting. Red confetti showered down on them after they said their vows.
Following the wedding, they were driven off together, waving to their nearest and dearest.
The guest list was limited to around 100 people, including Code of Silence star Kieron Moore and Love Island's Callum Jones. However, none of their Emmerdale co-stars were in attendance.
Max made 85 appearances in Emmerdale as Luke Posner, arriving in 2019 and leaving in 2021. Meanwhile, Kris made 21 appearances as Lee between 2019 and 2020 - although his final on-screen moment came as a vision since his character was killed off in 2019.
Kris' short time on the soap saw him at the centre of a huge storyline where his character raped Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins). Her brother Robert (Ryan Hawley) later got into an altercation with Lee and hit him over the head with a shovel. Lee was rushed to hospital and was i a coma but when he came too he told police Robert had attacked him first.
Lee later died after suffering an intracerebral haemorrhage. Following Lee's death, Robert was sentenced to 14 years in prison. In January 2020, Victoria gave birth to his son Harry.
However, over 18 months after Lee's death, Luke revealed to their mother that, on the day he was attacked by Robert, Lee had beaten Luke up after discovering he was in a relationship with a man. Lee threatened to round up his mates and beat Luke up again, so Luke had pushed him and Lee had hit his head.
