Trevoh Chalobah has shared a seven-word message on social media following the Chelsea defender's withdrawal during the pre-season friendly victory over AC Milan. The Blues defeated the Serie A outfit 4-1 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, with Joao Pedro extending the home side's advantage in the first half after an early own goal by Andrei Coubis.

A Liam Delap double secured a comfortable afternoon for Enzo Maresca's team despite Youssouf Fofana netting a consolation for the Italians, who saw goalkeeper Coubis dismissed with 18 minutes on the clock.

Centre-back Chalobah was substituted with a potential injury concern, however, with the Englishman going down following a clash in the second half.

Upon his departure from the match, the 26-year-old was seen hobbling towards the bench.

Following the encounter, though, Chalobah turned to social media platform X to reassure supporters he was unharmed.

"All good everyone, thanks for the messages," Chalobah posted.

Chalobah also shared several photographs of himself in action to his Instagram account on Sunday, with one snap displaying the defender clutching the Conference League trophy.

"Ready to rumble," Chalobah captioned the post.

The news that Chalobah appears to be uninjured despite his departure against AC Milan will provide relief to Maresca, particularly with the Premier League campaign beginning next Sunday for the Blues.

Chelsea host Crystal Palace in west London and everyone connected with the Club World Cup winners will be anticipating another fruitful season. Chalobah may be set to start against Palace due to the serious knee injury Levi Colwill sustained earlier this week.

The central defender is expected to miss most of the season after undergoing surgery for an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

A statement from Chelsea read: "The 22-year-old had reported back to Cobham for pre-season at the start of this week, before unfortunately sustaining the injury in training. Medical assessments confirmed surgery would be the required course of action. Levi will now begin his recovery and be supported by the club's medical department at Cobham during his rehabilitation phase."

Summer arrival Jorrel Hato could help Chelsea manage without Colwill, while Tosin Adarabioyo, Josh Acheampong, Axel Disasi, Renato Veiga and Aaron Anselmino are all currently available. Maresca also has Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana at his disposal throughout the season, although both have been plagued with injuries recently.
