Sha'Carri Richardson seen in fresh airport video showing dispute with Christian Coleman

The U.S. Olympic gold medalist sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson had a tense and physical argument captured in newly leaked surveillance footage from Seattle–Tacoma International Airport in Washington on July 27. In surveillance film obtained by TMZ Sports, Sha'Carri Richardson is seen grabbing Coleman's backpack, approaching him, and throwing him against a wall. She seems to toss something at him before pursuing him once more. Coleman attempts to go, but Richardson pushes him one more. Police came; from there everything rapidly spiraled.

Sha'Carri Richardson and Christian Coleman are caught on video from July 27 near a terminal at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport. Richardson blocks Coleman's road and grabs his backpack. Coleman tries to get away, but Richardson pushes him forcefully toward a wall. Moments later she pushes him once more. She appears to throw anything at him at one point.



Soon after Christian Coleman spoke with airport officials, police officers reached the scene. Richardson told police she had not assaulted Coleman and that the argument was only verbal.


Officers examined the video evidence but came to the arrest of Sha'Carri Richardson. Booked for fourth-degree assault , she was released after spending roughly 18 hours in jail. The case is in King County, Washington.


Christian Coleman Defends Sha’Carri Richardson
After the incident, Christian Coleman gave his side of the story. Speaking to reporters, Coleman said, “It was a sucky situation all around.” He added, “She’s a human being, and a great person. She has a lot of things going on, a lot of emotions and forces inside her that not only I can’t understand, but nobody can. She’s one of one. And I’m one of one too.”

Christian Coleman said he didn’t think Richardson should have been arrested. “People have emotions and stuff like that,” he explained. “She has things she’s gotta work on for herself. So do I. So do you.”

His comments suggest that while the argument turned physical, he believes it was a private matter that should not have led to criminal charges.
